Scribe post

Today for Science Ms.D was not here so we were under the supervision of a substitute teacher.

During the class, we were assigned to use our labels and find the Carbohydrate content, protein content and the lipid content. We were to use this information to complete the packet called "the food label activity". We learned that carbs are 4 cal/gram, proteins are 4 cal/gram and fat (or lipids) are 9 cal/gram. We learned to calculate if a product is a low fat food by fat calories/total calories X 100%.

The second thing we did was we took a test on the YouTube video we were supposed to watch for today. on the test we had to describe Osmosis and diffusion using the examples from the eggs used in the video.

The next scribe is Sophie.

  1. Hi, Vance,
Nice try on this post, but there are a few mistakes that you should correct:
    1. There are no titles or subtitles or paragraph which every book has.
    2. There are no definitions of the words you listed and I have got no idea what they mean.
    3. If you mention a book you should put a full name of it.
    4. There a couple of grammatical mistakes that you should fix as soon as possible.
    5. You forgot to put the answers of the questions or you could put the links of it.
    6. It would be very nice if you put pictures with explanations of them and a couple of videos maybe.
    7. I don't understand what kind of data should I upload and the link is missing.
After all it is very good.
    David :)

  2. Overall it is a good post however it is very vague and being absent I could only understand the basics of what you did in class. Also although I am sure others will disagree with me the different coloration of the vocabulary words is hard to follow at least for me.

  4. Hi Vance,
Overall this was a good post. I liked how you listed all of the vocabulary words and the assignment along with the formula to help in case people were absent. A suggestion would be to define the words because like David, I have no idea what they could mean. A few grammatical mistakes are visible as well. I think a video or picture(s) would have gone well with the post. Links to moodle for the other homework assignments could have helped too.
It's a good post but I don't think this is your best work.

  5. This was a good post because we had a short class on Friday and we didn't do anything except for this. Some things you could have added, though, were that we watched a video from BBC at the beginning of class, you could have defined the words, and you could have added a picture or two. Links to Moodle would also help. I liked your use of colors, but you need to use capital letters at the beginning of a sentence! And I have no clue what day's class this is for; the title is "Scribe Post". I think it's great that you remembered to subscript the numbers in the formula, but I don't understand what the arrow means, and I noticed that you didn't capitalise the "O" for Oxygen in some places in your formula. One last thing is that you should put "homework" instead of HW. Other than that, it was a good post that included almost everything it needed. Great job!

  6. Vance - Thank you for changing your previous post to this one, you now have posted about the correct class. Things that could be improved - your title is too vague, I am not sure how your picture relates to the class, your label about the class doesn't make sense. Your font is clear and a good size, but you could have "spiced it up" a bit. You don't have any links, which at this point is not a good choice. BUT all spelling looks good. So this is okay, but there is room for improvement in many areas. Next time be sure to scribe about the correct class, do not plagiarize your work and include more pictures/links. ~Ms. D.

  7. This is a comment from Chiara - Hi there Vance - I liked your post. You explained how to find the calorie content of carbohydrates, lipids (fat)and proteins. But I don't understand what those three things are in food, so you could have explained them more. You could have also explained the math more clearly and showed an example. It's good that you included a picture, but it has nothing to do with what you wrote. You could have included the YouTube link of the video you watched and were tested on,l plus you should have included a link to Moodle. Your font was a good size and your writing was clear. Overall, not bad.
