Enzymes speed up chemical reactions in your body.
Organic: Living; Carbon based

Inorganic: Not carbon based and not living.

We finished the table we started last class (table below)

Next scribe: VANCE!

Type of CompoundElementsFunctions
Carbohydrate (Organic)
(4 cal/g) (Sugars and Starches) (ends in -ose)
Carbon, Hydrogen, and OxygenProvider of energy!
Lipid (frat) (9 cal/g) (Organic)Carbon, Hydrogen, and Oxygen.Stores/Produces energy
Has more energy, but harder to break down.
Protein (4 cal/g)
(Made from amino acids, might be enzymes. There are 20 amino acids.) (Organic)
Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen, and sometimes Sulfur.Makes up organelles, helps digest, forms some cell membrane/wall parts.
Nucleic Acids Carbon,Oxygen, Hydrogen, Nitrogen,horous
Genetic code - trait - heridity - all functions of your life!Hydrogen and Oxygen.Helps chemical reactions in a cell; the reactions happen here. It is 70% or the body. Forms most of the cells and maintains the temperature of the body.

  1. Hello Noam,

I like your scribe very much and I think you did a great job by adding the table and the "MRS. GREN"!I have pretty much only two suggestions since there are no spelling mistakes and everything is great overall. You should have gone just a little bit more in depth with the four parts of DNA and RNA and maybe write just a little bit more. Except that, everything is great!

    All the best,

  2. Noam,
I really liked your blog. I think it was a good idea to inculde Mrs. Gren and put the chart exactly how we did it in class. Maybe you could arange the picture more to the text it belongs to. Put exept for that I really liked it.

  3. Hi Noam,
I think that you wrote a very good scribe post. You could have made the picture a little bigger because it is a little hard to read. The picture could also have been closer to the actual information about DNA and RNA and not on the start.I liked that you wrote the whole chart down, which makes it very easy for people that were absent. I also really liked how you organized your post.
    Nice post overall!

  4. Noam,
I liked how you used the MS.Gren table to show what it meant and the colors were even helpful. you seem to know how to use tables as well, but your table on the compounds and elements was missing the functions of nucleic acids.
    over all it was good.

  5. Hey Noam,

I really like the way you explaned Mrs. Gren and I like your data table about the elements, their functions and their type of compound. I also like the picture of DNA and RNA. So I like it :)

  6. Hey Noam, this is a good post - but check what is written in the table before you post it! I know that these are my notes and when I went and checked, my table had water instead of where you have the genetic code, and there aren't grammatical errors such as "It is 70% OR the body". Also, you forgot to label your post which you need to do. Other than that, the post was written in perfect English and you used a good font. Great job overall!!

  7. Hi Noam,
I think that it is good that you included Mrs. Gren because it does help. Its also good that you included the organic and inorganic definitions its good how you did include colors. One thing you could do to improve this scribe is explain what the picture because I did not understand what it ment. But overall it was great!

  8. Hey Noam,
I think yours was a really good and clear post. I liked the data table and Mrs. Gren, things that we did in class. One thing you could have done was spreading colors around instead that only in the Mrs. Gren part. Although, again, it was a really good scribe post.

  9. Hey Noam!
I really liked your post because you included a chart and you put in pictures. One think you could have improved upon are the colors and the layout of Mrs Gren. It was hard to follow. Also, you didn't complete your chart and you put the next scribe in one of the boxes of the chart. Your post could have been a little longer but I think you covered most of the class. One thing you forgot to do is link to Moodle. Overall, though, you post is good!

  10. Noam - You have done well on your first scribe post of the year - NO spelling mistakes! Thank you for proofing your work. I do like what the "commenters" above have to offer though and agree with them in some places. You need more pictures, at least a link to Moodle or your notes on google docs, and a "fun link" would have helped with overall understanding. You generally cover all of the things we did in class scientifically, but nothing should be missing from your chart. You also did not cover water, even though we added it. I like that you used good sized font, that was easy to read, but a bit more color would have helped the layout. Your tags are good that you added, but "class" is a bit too vague. Overall, I see room for improvement, but feel this is a good start for blogging this year. ~Ms. D.
