scribe post February 16-17

Today began with jeopardy to review for the quest (review session in class), some of the topics were: anything's possible, punnett squares, DNA and extraction lab, vocabulary, and inheritance.
also we were told about the rare chance to get extra credit in this class! The extra credit is a Karyotype packet in which you must match up the chromozones (look at the rings, the genes, and measure the length to the centromere to help you make sure you have the correct two chromozones) This is due the Tuesday we return from break. One last thing is that there will be a test on the 17th so remember to study, one thing that will help is the review session during lunch on the 15th. The quest will be over: DNA and the extraction lab, punnett squares and dihybrid crosses, genetics words/definitions, DNA structure and parts, inherited traits/mutations, meiosis, pedigrees and karyotypes.

  2. Hi Vance,
This is a pretty good post! You have good pictures, nice links and lots of detail. I understand that the color didn't work. Some things you could improve are hyperlinking your links and telling us what you can find when you go to them (you could write "this is a link to Moodle") etc. You also have no captions for your pictures, which would be good to have. It's really good that you put what the quest will cover, and your science in the post look good, except for that we didn't just play jeopardy on Tuesday; We did the first few pages of the karyotype packet and you could've explained more how to match up chromosomes, etc. I didn't understand what you meant with the title "scribe post February 16-17th! since we had no class on the 16th and the 17th is today - but you were scribing for Tuesday, the 15th. It's great that you talked about the extra credit activity in case anyone wants to do it! Other than that, I like the post. Keep it up!

  3. Hello!
You have a really interesting post, but there is no title or date which makes it confusing. The chosen picture is great, but it has no captions. I like the size and the color of the font you used, but the text could be divided into paragraphs or you can emphasize the important details with different colors. The post is a little bit short, so it has no important, additional explanations. You have no links of other websites related to the theme of the topic. It's good that you put the links to Moodle. The grammar and spelling is pretty good. I hope you keep making good posts like this.

  4. Hi Vance!
This was a very nice post, you included all the labels and there were plenty of pictures to explain your day! I also liked that you added many links. I think you could have added some captions to the pictures to make them more understandable, and you could have made the title capitalized and catchier. I did not understand why you wrote
"(Review session in class)", because it was confusing.
    Also, when you wrote
"some of the topics were: anything's possible, Punnett squares, DNA and extraction lab, vocabulary, and inheritance.", you could have explained more what you had done in each category, because since I wasn't in your class, I did not understand what "anything's possible" was and the others were only very vague based on the previous blog posts. One last thing was you could have rechecked punctuations, because you did not capitalize some things like "also" in the second paragraph.
    Overall though nice job!
