The cell cycle, or cell-division cycle, is the series of events that take place in a eukaryotic cell between its formation and the moment it replicates itself. These events can be divided in two main parts: interphase (in between divisions phase grouping G1 phase, S phase, G2 phase), during which the cell is forming and carries on with its normal metabolic functions; the mitotic phase (M mitosis), during which the cell is replicating itself. Thus, cell-division cycle is an essential process by which a single-cell fertilized egg develops into a mature organism and the process by which hair, skin, blood cells, and some internal organs are formed.

The class of December the 10th
Hello Everyone,
Today we weighed our flour babies, a project we are working on in our wellness class. This has been the third time we weighed our flour babies and it is the second last time we will ever do it. After that we went over our cell cycle and mitosis packet. Which you can find here: http://zagreb.ceesa.net/course/view.php?id=189.

Hi Ciprian,
ReplyDeleteThis is a really good post that coveres everything we did with good links and pictures, but you could've given the pictures captions. You could've also tried not to change the font in the middle of a paragraph/sentence. Your science is completely correct, but you should check yoru grammar a little bit, and you should put the next scribe!!! Your labels are correctr and everything else seems fine. Great job! :)
Hi Ciprian!
ReplyDeleteI liked your post, you had links (that are ok), you also used pictures (which were very helpful). But, to be honest, your post is VERY boring to read, it is not very colorful, and I think that your post is a little bit too short. And check your grammar. And also, who is your next scribe???
It's an ok post, but you should work more on these paragraphs!

Hy Ciprian!
ReplyDeleteThis is a good post. You coverd everything we did in class and had a good video that hepled by understanding. You could use more colors ut don't change it in the midle of a sencence or paragraph. I liked how you linked to Moodle and how you wrote the basic facts. You could have made your pictures a litle bigger because they were hard to see. However you must include who the next scribe is. I still liked your post.

Hey Cip,
ReplyDeleteI think overall this was a detailed post, that explained clearly everything we covered throughout the lesson. Although this is a really good post, there are some minor mistakes you could have easily avoided, like the changing of the font and color in the middle of your paragraph or the explanation of the pictures you included. I liked that you linked the Moodle site and that you also linked a YouTube video, that explained well what Cell Cycle is and what it does. One more thing you could have explained was why the cell cycle only takes place in an eukaryotic cell and you could have mentioned the procìkaryote cell. Also, I would suggest you to include the kingdoms, and say which ones are composed of eukaryote cells or prokaryote cells. Overall, really, this is a very good post.

Cip - I like your first post of the year overall, but there is definite room for improvement. Good coverage of the cell cycle and all of it's parts, but I think you could have added some of that information in your text and not just have a link to a video on YouTube about it. Your images are helpful, but rather small. You may want to make them hyperlink to a bigger version of where you got them and include a caption for each explaining what it shows. It's good you have linked to Moodle and I am glad you brought up the flour baby project. I think you could have gone into a bit more depth about the project though so other people understood why we were doing it. Your font is a good size and clear to read, but it changes color partway through one of the paragraphs. Finally, you did not write who the next scribe was and I think your labels could have been a bit more clearer about the subject we covered in class. As I stated at the top, it looks good, but there is room for improvement. ~Ms. D.
ReplyDeleteHey Cip,
ReplyDeleteOverall, good post. Check your grammar in some places and also make sure to write who the next scribe is. You explained the cell cycle very good. You included all the stages of the cell cycle and helping pictures. Although the pictures are helpful, they have no captions. I like that you put a link to a YouTube video about the cell cycle which is very helpful too.

Hi Cip,
ReplyDeleteNice Post! You explained what you did in class pretty well, and your science was great. I liked that you put the cell-division cycle. It was very helpful. Your post has no color, and therefore is a bit dull. You also put a YouTube link, which was very nice. You didn't put the homework you had. You have many pictures, and I find that very good. You could have been a bit more detailed and thorough with the explanation of what you did in class and how the cells separate. Your post isn't very long. Your post gave me some great backgroung information I didn't know about, but you could have brought up some more specific examples of the different ways cells divide. This is a great post, but you should add some more info and re-check to see that you included everything you did in class.
